    Job Summary

    Surry Power Station is currently seeking candidates for a Supervisor- Nuclear Engineering position. The selected individual will provide management and direction to the Engineering Coordination and Programs team responsible for a number of site engineering programs and providing support to the site engineering department at Surry Power Station.

    Manage Engineering work activities in support of:

    Engineering programs (eg. Boric Acid Corrosion Control Program - BACCP, ISI/IST, ASME Repair & Replace - R&R, etc)

    Various design engineering products (Requests for Engineering Assistance - REA, Temporary Modifications - TM, Design Changes - DC, etc)

    Plant Health Working Group (PHWG), Engineering Plan of the Day - POD, Outage Integration Team - OIT, etc

    Manage both Dominion and Contractor personnel.

    Must be able to work in a collaborative fashion with all station groups (Maintenance, Nuclear Site Services, Operations, etc) to facilitate timely and reliable implementation schedules.

    Interface with employees in other company departments and outside engineering firms.

    Of prime importance is the ability to coach, mentor and supervise the development of effective and energetic engineers.

    Perform duties as Engineering point of conduct as Engineering Manager on Call (EMOC) and as Outage Control Center Engineering Representative when assigned during outage periods.

    This position will be required to participate in Emergency Response Organization (ERO).

    May be required to occasionally work hours other than dayshift to support emergent activities.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

    Required 7+ years of related engineering experience of which 2+ years must be nuclear plant experience.

    Strong leadership and organizational skills are a must.

    Must have very strong oral and written communication skills.

    Previous experience in engineering design or construction projects is required.

    Knowledge of power plant operations is required with an ability to organize and manage human resources.

    Certification as a nuclear Shift Technical Advisor or Senior Reactor Operator is desired but not required.

    Some experience with the work management and scheduling processes is desired but not required.

    Must meet engineering experience as required by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the qualification of nuclear powerplant personnel.

    Nuclear station engineering experience is a significant advantage.

    Education Requirements

    Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

    Bachelor

    Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering, Engineering Technology

    Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.

    Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

    Bachelor in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related science preferred or 11+ years of practical engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
