    The Eastchester School District seeks an outstanding administrator for the Waverly Elementary School, a grades K-1 school with approximately 425 students. Candidates must possess strong leadership skills to foster a school climate that is supportive of excellent teaching and high expectations, as well as extensive knowledge and experience with the Common Core and New York State learning standards, proficiency in technology and the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students and parents. Additionally, the successful applicant will ensure that students with disabilities are provided a supportive and nurturing atmosphere and are held to high standards of achievement.
    Requirements:
    • Deep understanding of early childhood and elementary education and literacy;
    • Outstanding knowledge and skills in the supervision of instruction;
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Commitment to building and strengthening relationships with colleagues, students, parents and the community at-large.
    The successful finalist must possess:
    • New York State certification as a School Building Leader,
    • a minimum Master's degree (Doctorate preferred);
    • elementary teaching experience (tenure preferred); and
    • three to five years administrative experience or equivalent at the elementary level.
    Employment Terms:
    • 12 month, probationary position, beginning July 1, 2024
    • The salary range is $175,000 to $195,000 based on experience, academic credentials and a record of achievements.

The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
