    Our Opportunity

    We are currently seeking a Principal Scientist in Exposure Assessment and/or Risk Assessment for our Practice. You will lead and collaborate with a team of scientists that participate in a variety of client-facing projects related to human health, including litigation support. You will lead projects, identify new clients, build on relationships with existing clients, and develop new businesses in related Health Science areas. Projects will be multidisciplinary (involving, for example, Toxicology, Epidemiology, Occupational Medicine, Industrial Hygiene, Biostatistics, and/or other fields). The location for this position is flexible.

    You will be responsible for

  • Using expertise in risk assessment and exposure assessment to solve diverse and often complex human health problems affecting a range of clients
  • Identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities and promoting Exponent through existing contacts
  • Attracting, developing, and enhancing new projects and clients
  • Maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
  • Developing and mentoring staff in both technical and business areas
  • Providing project management and project budget oversight
  • Publishing and presenting study findings
  • Providing strategic consulting and expert witness work
  • You will have the following skills and qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in a field related to Environmental or Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related scientific field
  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience (must be post-graduate experience)
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of consulting experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative risk assessment skills
  • Outstanding reputation among clients for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise
  • Demonstrated project management experience​
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong commitment to professional development
