Overview:
The Interventional Radiology Tech Supervisor will oversee the daily operation of the Interventional Radiology area for all shifts. The Interventional Radiology Tech Supervisor has a thorough knowledge and proficiency in the skills of the Interventional Radiology area.
The Interventional Radiology Tech Supervisor supports and contributes to the departmental and hospital objectives by assisting the department clinical manager and administrative director by giving guidance and instruction to employees supervised.
The Interventional Radiology Tech Supervisor complies with and enforces compliance with established hospital and department policy and procedures. The Interventional Radiology Tech Supervisor plays an active role in department compliance with various accrediting bodies.Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating patient throughput in conjunction with IR Physicians and RN staff.
Assigns daily tasks to staff and ensures equitable work distribution between staff.
Orders and maintains department supplies.
Disseminates educational and administrative information to staff.
Attends and participates in department meetings and ensures staff attends staff meetings.
Demonstrates proficiency in all Interventional Radiology procedures and equipment. Performs duties of an Interventional Radiology Technologist as needed including call.
Recommends and initiates disciplinary action for staff as needed.
Develops and maintains a working relationship with Neuro and Interventional Radiology section chiefs to ensure protocols are up to date and necessary supplies are on hand for each case.
Communicates effectively to clinical manager regarding needs of the department.
In conjunction with IR Educator and clinical manager, ensures new employees are oriented in the Interventional Radiology area.
In conjunction with IR Educator and clinical manager, Assesses competency of staff by timely completion of orientation and competency checklists.
Displays a positive and supportive image of the hospital and department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred): GRADUATE OF A JRCERT APPROVED RAD TECH PROGRAM. ARRT (R ) (VI) REGISTERED, KY RADIATION OPERATORS LICENSE, BLS.
Experience (required and preferred): PREFER 3 YEARS VASCULAR EXPERIENCE AND ONE YEAR SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE.
