    Role Summary

    The Senior Manager of Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a key strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing AvidXchange's enterprise IAM vision. This role is accountable for the security, scalability, and resilience of identity and access controls across a complex, hybrid cloud environment. This individual will drive innovation and automation in IAM, ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards, and deliver a secure, frictionless access experience for employees, partners, and customers.

    This leader will partner across technology, security, compliance, audit, HR, and business units to modernize and transform the IAM program into a business enabler, with a strong focus on user experience, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

    What you'll do
    • Define and drive the long-term vision, roadmap, and strategy for IAM aligned with enterprise security, cloud modernization, and digital transformation goals
    • Drive the maturity of Privileged Identity Management that supports the role-based, Just-in-time, Just-enough-access posture along with required management controls that require the appropriate approval flows for a given Production change vector
    • Build, lead, and coach a high-performing team of IAM engineers and analysts
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability
    • Lead design and operational management of enterprise IAM platforms including Azure AD, Active Directory, SailPoint, CyberArk, and modern cloud-native identity services
    What we're looking for
    • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IAM, including 3+ years in people leadership roles
    • Proven experience implementing and managing IAM platforms (e.g., Entra ID, Active Directory, SailPoint, CyberArk) across hybrid or multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
    • Strong working knowledge of IAM protocols and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth2, OIDC, SCIM, LDAP)
    • Familiarity with Zero Trust, least privilege, and identity-first security models
    • Hands-on experience with access governance, identity lifecycle management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS, SOC)
    • Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and translating technical risks into business terms
    • Experience supporting IAM audits and access reviews, with an understanding of control frameworks and KPIs
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and senior stakeholders
    • Passion for building secure, scalable systems and developing high-performing teams
    What we'd love to see
    • Ability to automate provisioning and entitlements using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Terraform
    • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and modern deployment models (e.g., GitOps, CI/CD pipelines)
    • Deep hands-on experience with tools like SailPoint, CyberArk, Terraform, or other advanced enterprise platforms
    • Prior experience leading IAM work across multi-cloud environments at scale
    • Exposure to GitOps frameworks or modern DevSecOps IAM integrations
