Job Title: Registered Nurse (Experienced RN) - PRN

Duke University Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our mission of Advancing Health Together.
Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to each patient, ensuring a top-notch patient experience every time.

The Med-Surg Nursing Float Pool team at Duke provides care and support to a diverse range of patients across various Medical Surgical units.
As a nurse in this unit, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and have the chance to participate in patient rounds.

Nurse Details:

The patient ratio typically ranges from 1:3 to 1:6 based on acuity, and the unit is equipped with a standing charge nurse and Health Unit Coordinator available 24/7.
Nursing Care Assistants support the unit in 12-hour shifts.

Plan, provide, supervise, and document nursing care following physician orders and established protocols.
Delegate tasks and oversee other care providers.
Assist in delivering nursing care and act as a team leader when assigned.
Maintain the care environment and resources.
Engage in professional development and act as a preceptor for other staff.
Identify areas for performance improvement and participate in such activities.
Educate patients and their families based on care plans.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Nursing program (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma).
Active registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing.

Registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in a BSN program within two years of hire and complete it within five years.
