    Under the direction of the Executive Director ,


    California LAW Pathways (Cal LAW) the Director, Development will bring both experience and creativity to the strategic design, implementation and management of annual giving and sponsorship campaigns while stewarding existing donor relationships and discovering new potential donors and corporate supporters.

    The Director, Development will provide complex and nuanced support for Executive Director creation and expansion of California LAW Pathway's individual giving and corporate giving programs in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.

    What You'll Do


    The Director, Development will be a key collaborator and partner on the design and implementation of Cal LAW's comprehensive fundraising plan which includes annual giving, corporate giving, sponsorships, major giving, and principal gifts.


    Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

    Plan, design and implement strategic and innovative giving campaigns and plans, creating buy-in from donors and prospects.
    Develop and execute multi-channel annual giving solicitations by writing appeals and follow up communications and tracking campaign results.

    Design and manage appeals via fundraising channels (e.g., email, video, social media, peer-to-peer fundraising, and cause marketing) to target key populations and maximize fundraising potential.

    Plan, design and implement a comprehensive corporate engagement and giving program leveraging and integrating current programs with emerging opportunities.
    Design and execute effective sponsorship campaigns supporting events, programs and partners. Create sponsorship levels and benefits, draft sponsorship materials, solicit prospective and continuing sponsors, and steward relationships with sponsors.

    Provide Cal LAW leadership to collaborative projects with corporate partners which may include management of cause marketing, peer-to-peer fundraising, and complex campaign elements.

    Experience with coordinating multi-channel annual fundraising campaigns from campaign ideation to donor stewardship.
    Demonstrated experience working with major donors, board members, and VIPs.
    Experience cultivating donor relationships and soliciting prospects desirable.
    Previous experience with sponsorship and corporate giving programs.
    Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.

    Typically requires seven (7+) years of progressive experience in managing a program/system implementation or project management related work experience in law-related positions, donor cultivation and solicitation, donor research, donor management, corporate giving, sponsorships,external relations, and/or other stakeholder relations.

    Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
    $68, $68,000.00

    Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
