    Quality Engineer Intern

    Position Overview

    OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The quality of our products and services is critical to the success of our company and our customers. The Quality Intern will support the team to evaluate products and processes for compliance with appropriate specifications and requirements.

    Position Responsibilities
    • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
    • Conduct periodic physical measurements of product using devices such as scales, verniers, dial indicators, calipers, electronic indicators, pressure sensing instruments, and other more complex instruments, both mechanical and electronic.
    • Manipulate and transmit data, and prepare unbiased graphical analysis of tested samples, utilizing computer software programs.
    • Review proposed test procedures.
    • Participate in studies to verify measurement processes and continuously improve turn around time, precision and accuracy.
    • Ensure the integrity of the retained physical sample filing system.
    • Create spreadsheets and data collection programs to simplify the dissemination of information accumulated in laboratory testing.
    • Maintain necessary files, records, and computer databases of historical information.
    • Perform other tasks as required.
    Requirements

    Position Requirements
    • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • Prior work or studies in Engineering and/or Manufacturing preferred.
    • Strong initiative with good written and verbal communication, and basic math skills.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve practical problems.
    • Solid time management skills and ability to prioritize workloads.
    • Ability to observe processes and product as manufactured.
    • Advanced PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills required).
    • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to work and contribute as part of a team.
    • Positive "can do" attitude
