    Description
    What you need to know about this position:
    • The Health Information Department focuses on documentation quality and data accuracy.
    • A Clinical Documentation Specialist is responsible for concurrent review of the clinical documentation in the medical records and query of the medical staff and other caregivers as necessary via prompters/verbal communication to obtain accurate and complete documentation which appropriately supports the severity of patient illness and evidence-based patient care. This position does not provide direct patient care.
    • The department works closely with Medical Staff Services and Clinical Risk Management.
    • The Clinical Documentation Specialist position has a base hourly rate of $34.69, annualized to $72,155. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
    • This full-time position requires working Monday through Friday; 40 weekly hours; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This position is 100% remote.
    What is required for this position:
    • Registered Nurse from a Bachelor's program with a current RN license and a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in an acute care setting.
    OR
    • Bachelor's Degree from a Health Information Administration Program with RHIA registration and a minimum of 5 years coding experience in a hospital and a score of 85% or greater on the Inpatient Coding Assessment Tool.
