Irrigation Technician Job Description / Summary

The Irrigation Technician should be well-versed in all aspects of irrigation systems, including wiring controllers and valves, pressure testing, trenching/pulling pipe, installing heads, rotors, valves, and operating equipment. They need to interact with customers, subcontractors, and architects, handle paperwork efficiently, and maintain a professional job environment.

Job Skills & Personal Characteristics

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license and insurable on company's policy
• Minimum of two years experience in irrigation services
• Proficient in irrigation systems
• Able to operate company equipment and perform maintenance
• Read irrigation plans and drawings
• Order materials and lay out job sites
• Operate irrigation GPS locator system
• Ensure job schedule and budget adherence
• Professional interaction with clients and subcontractors
• Work independently with the ability to seek help when needed

Physical Demands

• Physically fit for Irrigation Technician tasks
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Full range of motion in upper and lower body
• Ability to bend and stoop frequently
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
