    Description
    • Oversees all aspects of the plant safety program to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
    • Provides safety orientation to all new team members and ensures workplace hazard training is conducted during onboarding.
    • Provides safety training materials to the production and maintenance teams as needed.
    • Completes divisional monthly safety reports and communicates performance to management.
    • Conducts monthly safety committee meetings and works with team members to identify areas for improvement.
    • Manages facility Behavioral Based Safety Program
    • Maintains facility safety programs and procedures in accordance with legal and company guidelines.
    • Communicates regularly to the Corporate Safety Manager of all recordable injuries, 911 calls, OSHA inspections, and other important aspects of the safety program.
    • Ensures regular communication with employees and management on accident investigations, restricted duty situations, OSHA audits, safety rules and hazardous work situations.
    • Maintains records on OSHA recordable accidents and compiles and submits accident reports required by corporate and outside regulatory agencies.
    • Acts as a technical resource on new products and equipment to problem solve and mitigate risks introduced into the work environment.
    • Leads the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and ensures prompt corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Performs regular inspections of facility to detect existing or potential safety and health hazards, determines the corrective action or preventative measures needed and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
    • Administers first aid when needed and transports employees for medical care if needed.
    • Creates and manages Job Hazard Analysis for all new processes, equipment, and contractor work.
    • Addresses workplace health concerns and conducts industrial hygiene testing on known hazards.
    • Conducts ergonomic assessments to ensure proper procedures are in place for employees.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field preferred, with 2 or more years of experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Professional designations desired. CSP, ASP, CHMM, CIH
    • Highly motivated, personable, flexible, and eager to enhance knowledge and skills through on-going education and development.
    • Must have the ability to multi-task and focus on work with details.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a project team environment.
    • Must have proficient skills in the use of personal computers including Windows Office applications.
    • Ability to use a variety of office equipment properly for routine tasks on an as needed-basis, including fax machines, copy machines, email and central calendar systems.
