    Job Description

    This role involves compounding and dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies based on written, electronic, or oral prescriptions from qualified practitioners. The successful candidate will oversee daily activities of technical and clerical staff, serve as the manager on duty when needed, and make professional decisions.

    • Works with clinical staff to manage complex drug therapies for Specialty Medication and Transplant patients.
    • Provides drug information and patient education to physicians, patients, and other healthcare workers.
    • Maintains minimum standards designated by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.

    The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in Windows-style applications, and have experience working with standard pharmacy and office equipment. A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree is required, along with licensure to practice pharmacy in Louisiana or eligibility for licensure.

    Physical Demands

    This role requires standing for prolonged periods, stooping, bending, reaching, and grabbing with arms and hands. Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, but there is an occupational risk for communicable diseases.
