Description
Mission or Goal of Unit: To provide superior, compassionate and innovative clinical care to our patients using state of the art knowledge and resources and to conduct and disseminate clinical research and scholarship, with a focus on the care of patients and education of future clinicians
Position Responsibilities: Clinical - Provide clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in gastroenterology outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service at VCUHS; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
Teaching - Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Leadership - Divisional Programs including IBD, GI Fellowship training, Pancreas/Biliary, and Women's Health; set up Sites of Excellence for Endoscopy, Esophagus and Nutrition; oversight of all inpatient and outpatient clinical activities; oversee growth of collaborative clinical activities between VCUHS and Hunter Holmes McGuire Hospital; initiating clinical research activities.
