    Description
    ObGyn physician job in Massachusetts : Locums Springfield, Massachusetts, OB/GYN Opening
    • Clinical Role:
      • Do you know someone that might be a good fit for this position? Please ask about our generous referral fees
      • Dates of Coverage: ASAP possible until early 2025 TBD
      • Cover Hour shifts per month
      • Weekends needed
      • On Call Requirements: 24-hour call
      • Call Schedule: to be worked out with the employed team/scheduler
      • Practice Setting: OBGYN-Labor and Delivery /Hospital ED and OR Coverage No outpatient or elective surgeries
      • Total Number of Beds: 16 beds- 6 labor/10 postpartum
      • 4 Physicians in Practice
      • Other OB/GYNs will provide coverage during Locums coverage dates
      • How Many APPs Provide Coverage: 10
      • Onsite Lab
      • Onsite Ultrasound
      • Office Equipment: Full complement of supplies
      • Support Staff: Full complement-RN, CNM's, 24 hour Peds, Anesthesia and surgical PA's available on site
      • Percentage of Practice is Low Risk Pregnancy: 100%
      • Percentage of Practice is High Risk Pregnancy: 0%
      • Percentage of Practice is GYN: 15% --GYN emergency coverage only
      • Percentage of Patients are C-Section: 25%
      • Average Number of Nursery Admissions Per Day: 2 per day
      • Level One Nursery
      • EMR: Meditech
      • Required Obstetrics Procedures:
      • Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
      • FHR Interpretation NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds
      • Performance of Interpretation, OB ultrasounds
      • Performance of Level I/Screening (Viability)
      • Labor and Delivery Required Procedures:
      • Routine Delivery Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section, Complicated Delivery C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc., VBACs, Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations
      • Gynecology Required Procedures:
      • D&C, Surgical Gynecology Open, Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation
      • LOAs, Chromal Tubation, Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic) Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOAs
      • Board Certified or Board Eligible- Required
      • BLS- Required
      • Active MA License- Required
      • Local Candidates- Highly Preferred
