    About the Position(s)

    We are interviewing for three Community School Facilitator 1 positions at Cordova Gardens Elementary, Rancho Cordova Elementary, and White Rock Elementary Schools in Rancho Cordova. The CSF I will be the bridge between families, staff, and community partners to create an integrated student support system that removes barriers to learning.

    As a CSF I, you will not be working in isolation. Your role includes supporting and growing community partnerships to help meet the needs of our families. You will engage in in-home visits to improve communication, enhance understanding of the student and family, and gain greater insight to support school performance, work with teachers, staff, and families to increase student daily attendance, increase family engagement at school functions, work with families to support learning at home. This collaborative approach is at the heart of our mission.

    In addition, the CSF will organize and lead a family partnership team responsible for advising the SSC regarding funding and programmatic decisions specific to their community school. The Facilitator will also implement the requirements of the 5-year CCSPP grant.

    When schools partner with families to build strong relationships, ensure effective communication, and offer support and resources on their campus, families are more likely to be engaged, empowered, and advocates for their children. This builds confidence and paves the way for a strong academic future, supporting on-time graduation. In your role as a CSF, I can inspire and motivate these positive outcomes.

    Candidates will work some weekends and evenings. The Facilitator should be committed to equity, have extensive community engagement experience in diverse communities, and understand the fundamentals of the California Community Schools Partnership Program.

    Job Announcement - Community Schools Facilitator I Job Description
    Under the direction of the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Student Supports or designee and in collaboration with FCUSD staff, students, families, and community partners, the Community Schools Facilitator I will support the implementation of a year-round Community Schools model at a designated Title 1 school site. The Facilitator will work closely with students, staff, and families to implement the four pillars of Community Schools, including connecting families and school staff with agencies, and non-profit programs. Under the direction of the site administration or designee, the Facilitator will pursue partnerships that will address attendance, behavior, and physical and/or mental health challenges. They will support the implementation of systems to connect families with basic resources needed to remove barriers to learning, wellness, and on-time graduation. They will promote a strengths-based, whole child-focused, and culturally responsive school-wide culture and will actively connect with low-income, English Learners and racially diverse youth and their families.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Experience: Two (2) or more years of community engagement experience in culturally diverse communities, preferably in Rancho Cordova.
    Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
    Two (2) years or more of community engagement experience can be substituted for education.

    KNOWLEDGE: Applicable laws, codes, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
    ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
    Bilingual and bicultural preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to mediate and de-escalate conflict. Ability to work flexible hours (occasional evenings, weekends, and school vacation work). Strong community ties are preferred. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team. Experience with diverse communities that represent various racial, ethnic, linguistic, disability, and socioeconomic groups is required. Excellent judgment, networking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
