- Use the Oracle database to log samples, receive and obtain appropriate mount identification information.
- Prepare customer hardware (part cut-ups) and cubicle samples (tab samples) at various stages of the production process for metallurgical evaluation
- Perform metallurgical evaluation with microscope
- Proper preparation and metallographic evaluation of samples per customer, internal, and corporate quality requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures, and comply with all applicable regulations
- Assist in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
- Maintain accurate records
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Detail oriented
- Ability to maintain the highest quality standards
- Ability to prioritize work, multi-task, and be action oriented
- Works well and communicates clearly with others, including team members and internal customers
- Must be self-sufficient and focused on assigned duties

- Working extended hours and/or weekends and holidays may be required
- Ability to demonstrate acceptable manual dexterity

- High school diploma is required
- If not previously certified, individual must be able to complete both PST certification and week-long Metcut (CCL) training (off-site) prior to working independently
- Related lab experience desired
- Previous Metcut (CCL) certification and PST certification a plus
- Prior coating experience a plus
- Previous work experience with hazardous / chemical processes
- Experience working in a production / manufacturing and/or plant environment
- Knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings for sample preparation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and office programs
