    Company Overview:

    Mentee is a vibrant, fast-paced startup dedicated to revolutionizing the college admissions journey. We match high school students with personalized college mentors, ensuring every student can navigate the college application process with confidence and insight. Our mission is to bring authentic perspectives to college life and make the path to higher education clearer and less stressful.

    Location: Remote (Philadelphia, NYC, Seattle/Bellevue WA areas preferred)

    Hours: Mostly asynchronous. Expect evening availability for team meetings for east coast applicants.

    Expect at least 25 hours of work per week Pay: Combination of equity, monthly base stipend, and milestone bonuses

    Note: Please do not apply if you must be paid a full salary immediately. Expect that this role will entail of a low base monthly stipend + future equity as payment until another round is raised.

    Position Overview: As a Product Designer, you'll be the architect of our website. You'll be cultivating a seamless user experience for all of Mentee's potential customers and users by crafting engaging visuals, integrating our designs with backend processes and systems, and using customer feedback to tailor a message thiat is catered to our ideal customer. We want you to help our audiences understand the value Mentee brings to their educational journey through strong UI/UX design and feature creation. Your work will play a pivotal role in driving our mission forward and helping us reach our company goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of Tech Products and Systems: Strong understanding of how front end and back end systems integrate (bonus if you have any experience using Flutterflow or other no-code platforms).
  • Visual Eye: We are seeking someone with an acute eye for engaging aesthetics, who can create captivating visuals that resonate with target audiences. The ideal candidate will expertly balance form and function, balancing their sense of style with the functionality behind it.
  • Strong Understanding of User Behavior: The ideal candidates uses customer insights to design products that people actually want Must be able to interpret customer feedback and create features and designs inspired by this.
  • Agile Product Development Mentality: You will be one of the first people on our product team and will have a say in our product development process, prioritization techniques, and will also be responsible for bring new and innovative ideas to our product
  • Analytics: Uses Google Analytics, Mixpanel, and other customer data to help prioritize product goals, make UI/UX adjustments, and come up with creative new feature ideas

    Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, or related field. 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design or frontend development, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to engage diverse audiences. A passion for storytelling and a creative mindset Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment Passion for education and a deep understanding of the high school to college transition
