Special Education Teacher Opening Wallingford, CT
A school district in the Wallingford, CT area is seeking a Special Education Teacher to fill an open position. This district needs someone who can hop in and lead their students with quality aids and services. This position would start at the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year and continue for the full year with a renewal option after successful completion of the school year.
Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in special education or related fields
• Must have an active CT Special Education Teacher License.
• Previous Special Education Teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Pass a Drug screening and background check (fingerprints).
• Must have 2-3 positive Supervisor references.

Job Specifics:

• Full-time, 37.5 hours a week
• Caseload: up to 18 students. Standard Special Education Teacher duties.
• Provide case management services for students on IEPs.
• Provide direct instruction according to IEP.
• Provide behavior management support and implement behavior intervention plans.
• Partner with staff to implement accommodations and modifications within the school setting.
• Further caseload details will be discussed in the interview and placement will be based off experience and preference.
• After successful completion of assignment, huge potential for a contract renewal to return the following school year
