- Works independently and with minimal supervision, assist staff, external parties, and vendors regarding questions about patient Medical Records.
- Assists staff, external parties and vendors for items including but not limited to ROI, Audits, HEDIS, Risk Adjustment/Recovery Audit, Polst, Power of Attorney, Advance Directives, Risk Management, Outside Records, Medical Record Uploads to patient charts or any other Medical Records Request.
- Follows Corvallis Clinic policies for receiving and processing or rejecting ROI, Audits, HEDIS, Risk Adjustment/Recovery Audit, Polst, Power of Attorney, Advance Directives, Risk Management, Outside Records, Medical Record Uploads to patient charts or any other Medical Records Request.
- Processes and forwards all incoming requests sent to Medical Records to practice staff including DME requests, Rx requests, Referrals and all ASAP or STAT requests.
- Remain current with laws and regulations in relationship to all aspects of Medical Records including but not limited to ROI, POA, HIPAA.
- Sends requests for outside records when necessary for patient records or authorizations.
- Process and add relevant notes and upload relevant documents to patient charts including but not limited to verbal requests, ROI, POA, POLST, Advanced Directives, Risk Management, outside records, and historical chart data.
- Process and scan documents for front desk and back office staff, upload to EHR system or network location.
- Is proficient with updating patient charts in Athena regarding all relevant Medical Record data.
- Performs other duties within the scope of this position as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year direct healthcare experience required.
- Knowledge of Medical Records policies and laws including aspects of ROI, POA, Advanced Directives, Risk Management and HIPAA.
- Familiarity with EHR systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be a team player with strong customer service skills and able to adjust to flexible work schedule.
