We're looking to expand our team across the board.

Duties We are seeking a Production Quality Lead to work collaboratively with our Production teams to implement systems, processes, procedures and best practices that build in Quality into our spacecraft. This individual will support sustainment and improvement of a robust Quality Management System and a Human Factors program. They will collaborate with Production leadership to strengthen Quality culture and accountability in our shop operations through a practical, risk-based approach. They will manage the shop audit program, analyze findings and non-conformance data, lead teams to determine root cause of defects and guide implementation of effective corrective actions. The Production Quality Lead will develop expertise in FOD prevention and Mistake Proofing and partner with manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement specialists to ensure these concepts are applied broadly and effectively in work instructions and production processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, implement and continuously improve elements of Quality Management System (QMS)
Gain expertise in Human Factors, conduct training for shop teams, assess effectives of existing safety nets, implement improvements in collaboration with Production leadership to reduce opportunities for operator error
Lead, enhance shop audit program, train auditors, analyze findings and non-conformance data for trends and risk, identify key issues for deeper investigation
Develop expertise in "Root Cause Corrective Action" (RCCA) methodologies like DMAIC, lead cross functional teams to conduct RCCA investigations, determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions and controls
Develop expertise in FOD prevention and Mistake Proofing methodologies, partner with manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement specialists to implement these methodologies in work instructions and production processes to progressively eliminate opportunities for operator error
Develop and maintain training and certification system for technicians and calibration system for key equipment, fixtures and tools
Create and maintain records management system
Organize and conduct monthly management reviews to ensure effectiveness of QMS and Human Factors programs, improvement in Quality KPIs and proactive response to emerging trends

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience
Experience in managing, improving Manufacturing and Supplier Quality collaboratively with production and supplier teams
Experience with Quality Management System for manufacturing
Experience developing, managing Quality metrics (KPIs) and using analysis to drive improvement actions
Experience analyzing non-conformance data and driving improvements
Demonstrated skill with Root Cause Corrective Action with DMAIC or similar frameworks
Experience with implementing Internal Audits, Training, Calibration systems
At least 2 years of Team leadership experience
Experience with implementing a Human Factors program a plus
Product knowledge of satellites a plus
Developing talent in team and in larger organization
Comfort with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment
Continuous learner with desire to upgrade skills by doing
Structured thinker with ability to implement processes for speed and repeatability
