    Description

    The Maintenance Technician will ensure all plant equipment is operating and will strive to minimize downtime for production and plant operations by proactively finding and resolving potential mechanical or electrical issues that may occur through a structured Preventive Maintenance Program.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Repair/ replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools
    • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
    • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
    • Assemble, install and/or repair wiring
    • Electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
    • Clean and lubricate bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
    • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
    • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to productions specifications
    • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work
    • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
    • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
    • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
    • Identify parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers
    • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
    • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
    • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
    • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
    • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
    • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
    • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
    • Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work areas.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
    Key Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
    • Experience in installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
    • Ability to service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
    • Ability to operate mechanized equipment, such as forklifts
    • Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis
    • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the produce duties including but not limited to standing, bending, lifting, squatting, climbing and walking
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not necessary
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
    • Ability to self-motivate, problem solve and work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
    • Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude
