    Description
    Electrical Engineer Intern
    Objective:
    AutomationDirect is offering a paid Electrical Engineer internship for summer 2024. As an intern for our company, you will build experience with electrical and control system deployments, commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing in our warehouses. The position will include CAD designing and creating design specifications for electrical cabinets and electrical schematics for control systems.

    Continued work after graduation: This position has the potential to transition to a permanent employment opportunity with flexible hours to permit full time college status while still employed. AutomationDirect provides full benefits plus tuition reimbursement for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

    Responsibilities:
    • Design, install, and test automation systems installed in logistics warehouse
    • Design and build control systems, electrical schematics, and hardware specifications
    • Perform diagnostics on warehouse electrical systems to improve production uptime
    • Assist in coding and debugging PLC and industrial controller programs
    • Collaborate with engineers and technicians during commissioning and deployment of robotic and automation systems
    • Refine areas needing improvement and suggest improvements to the team.
    • Install vision systems to solve warehouse challenges
    • Maintain a safe working environment, follow company health, safe housekeeping and environmental policies and procedures
    Qualifications:
    • Requires current enrollment in electrical engineering or technical program
    • Familiarity with automation and control systems
    • Familiarity with MS Office Products with emphasis on Excel
    • Familiarity with any programming language is a plus (Such as Python, Java, PLC Ladder Logic)
    • Familiarity with CAD is required
    • Familiarity with robotic systems a plus
    • Ability to manage own projects and work under minimal supervision
