- Prepare mid-month and month-end billing for assigned projects
- Review and approve subcontractor, independent contractor, and accounts payable invoices
- Manage monthly bank activity, including recording transactions and performing detailed reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Assist with payroll processing, including review of payroll reports, preparation of related journal entries, and reconciliation of payroll accounts
- Support month-end close activities through preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of assigned accounts
- Manage year-end 1099 preparation and processing, including vendor review, reconciliation, and timely filing in compliance with IRS requirements
- Serve as a resource to junior team members by answering questions and providing guidance on accounting processes and procedures
- Provide information and support for internal and external audits
- Create and document processes and procedures to ensure consistency of practice
- Provide input on process improvements and drive automation of our reporting processes
- Perform all functions within the parameters of Accounting and Finance operations policies and procedures
- Serve as back-up for other management staff
- Assists with other assignments and/or special projects as requested
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a government contracting environment
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP with strong General Accounting skills
- Experience with month-end close
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, data analysis)
- Costpoint experience is a plus
- Active Secret security clearance preferred
