- Act as liaison between all parties to the transaction including homebuyer, mortgage, accounting, and other areas within the Title & Escrow Process
- Handle all aspects of the settlement transactions including preparation and approval of Settlement Statements, preparation and coordination of deeds, verify accuracy of loan documents, insurance documentation, seller statements, and contract or sales agreement.
- Obtain signatures for closing transactions, explain all documents executed as needed, and facilitate questions/answers between parties to the transaction.
- Follow Escrow Accounting Business Practice Guidelines which includes and not limited to collection and disbursement of funds while complying with required State and Federal Good Funds statutes.
- Review escrow quality assurance reports and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure compliance with required business policy.
- Ensure timely and accurate flow of information and documentation from settlement team to Recording and Accounting Departments
- Correct and resolve any post-closing issues that arise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Escrow Officer Licensing requirements as required by State/Federal Agencies (Must have the ability to obtain Escrow Officer Licensing)
- Notary Public license requirements as required by State of CA (Must have the ability to obtain Notary Public license)
- Related Functional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years Escrow Officer experience .
- Customer Service skills in dealing with all homebuyer types and demographics.
- Ability to multi-task and handle fast paced and demanding work environment
- Strong follow up skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to adjust well to change.
- Capacity to work in a multi-location team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands & meet department needs with available resources.
- Efficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel. OneNote and SoftPro is a plus.
