    Description


    Primary FunctionsWith the global procurement team, lead efforts in identifying, evaluating, quoting, and selecting suppliers for purchased partsAct as a liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Suppliers to successfully match BU needs with suppliers capabilitiesParticipate in new product development and product life cycle management teams directly responsible for purchased components (understand function, identify, and document critical performance characteristics, develop performance specifications)Responsible for the quality of purchased parts and services from suppliers.

    Requests, reviews, and approves PPAPs. Works directly with suppliers to resolve any quality issues that may arise during production.

    Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback to suppliersLead re-sourcing efforts in support of corporate quality, delivery, and productivity goalsNPI SupportProvide support to the Project Engineer leading the NPI teamsBe the liaison between the team and suppliersProvide regular updates regarding status of purchased part developmentProvide regular updates on the PPAP status of purchased partsCorrelate supplier documents (Control Plan, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram) to pertinent drawing requirementsSupplier Relationship ManagementEstablish relationships with various suppliers across all commodities/categoriesProvide engineering/technical support to the supplier during the development of new custom and outsourced finished partsThis includes supporting plastic injection molding, die casting, coatings, outsourced lamps, wiring/harnessing, and electronics components & assembliesWork together with the Global Commodity/Category team to help source parts at the appropriate supplier from a technical perspectiveHelp perform/coordinate supplier audits and/or self-assessments, to assure that the suppliers are capable of producing various parts per the drawing/technical requirementsEducationUndergraduate degree in Engineering or a related disciplineExperience5-10+ years of experience in a quality, supplier quality, or similar roleExperience operating in a global organizationEffective communication skillsAbility to demonstrate strong problem resolution skillsRedline Resources is an equal opportunity employer.
