RF/MMW Electrical Engineer

Job Description:
In MACOM's MMICBusiness Unit we design MMICs and IMAs for cellular, aerospace & defense,and other wireless applications.

We are looking for an experiencedAnalog/Digital engineer with experience designing circuits, power supplies,support PCBs, and test systems for RF & Millimeter Wave multi-chipmodules.

Beresponsible for the design layout, test, and release of printedcircuit boards embedded in RF/MMW IMAs
Designof circuits for DC filtering, voltage conversion, and power conditioningfor MMICs
Designboth analog and embedded digital circuits for control of MMICs
Executingschematic circuit simulations and EM simulations where appropriate
Generatinglayouts and assembly drawings
Beresponsible for all design activities related to product developmentactivities from kickoff through engineering evaluations
Workwith our MMIC design, electromagnetic design, mechanical design, assembly,and test teams to develop new products as well as production methods
Initiate prototypebuilds and manage product characterization.
You will designevaluation boards and characterization fixtures, then direct orperform measurements
Generatingdesign reports, progress reports, test reports, datasheets and bill ofmaterials
Organizingdesign reviews
Cooperatingwith Project Manager in order to maintain an up-to-date project plan andschedule
Workwith our Product Engineering group to transfer the product to production
Keepingup to date with latest technologies (semiconductor, assembly, packaging,tools)
Customersupport (sampling and application notes)

Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Familiaritywith RF/MMW IMA design techniques.
Familiaritywith embedded digital design toolchains for microcontrollers and FPGA's(such as Atmel, Xilinx)
Familiaritywith SPICE simulation tools.
Familiaritywith RF simulation tools such as MWO or ADS (ADS preferred).
Familiaritywith EM simulation tools (such as HFSS).
Familiaritywith PCB layout tools such as Altium, PADS, or KiCAD
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing packages is a plus.
Familiarity with MATLAB and LabView is a plus.

Familiaritywith RF measurement techniques for small-signal and large-signalcharacterization of amplifiers: bench calibration, S-parameters, 1-toneand 2-tone power sweep measurements, pulsed measurements.

Goodcommunication, organization and documentation skills.
Strong Excel,Word, and PowerPoint skills
Stronginterpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships.
Abilityto work in fast pace environment.
Willingness totravel occasionally
Fluentin spoken and written English.
