Packaged Product Manager - Irving, United States - Matheson Tri-Gas
Description
The Packaged Product Manager will develop, manage
and implement activities to maximize sales and profitability specifically with
regards to pursuing major industrial account opportunities. They will work with both zone, regional, and
major account sales teams as to identify and implement appropriate sales
strategies and coordinate Matheson proposals and RFQ responses for large
business opportunities. The position is
also responsible for managing the profitability review process, which includes logistics
and operations touch points while working closely with the zones in the US and
across our business entities to summarize to executive management.
This position reports to the Vice President
of Product Management.
Position Accountabilities
Drive profitable growth of the business by
working with the commercial regions, product management, logistics,
distribution, transportation, finance and contract administration.
Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape in regards to assigned
products including, but not limited to: competitive situation, new
capacity, market trends, and new applications.
Analysis and management of supply / demand balance of assigned
products including negotiation of long-term supply agreements to sell or
purchase wholesale products.
Facilitate in new and existing source points
for all origins of gases and technology.
Create, validate and maintain Strategic Sourcing Plans for assigned
products.
Generation of proposals/bids and response to RFQs for large
multi-site opportunities in coordination with zone, regional, and major
account sales teams.
Act as a subject matter expert in regards to assigned products to
support management decisions as well as communicate Matheson product
strategy to the various entities and sales teams.
Evaluate business process opportunities and translate to financial
terms to support investment and business case development.
Support outage supply planning by quantifying supplemental supply
needs, identifying other supply sources, and reporting outage supply
costs.
Complete routine periodic and on-demand ad-hoc reports to help
evaluate performance of packaged gas business units.
Perform complex analyses to determine product needs, optimize
supply and recommend sourcing initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree or other related field, or equivalent
experience.
Knowledge or experience with CRM software
Broad product knowledge of industrial gases
Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong experience in Microsoft office including
Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to
learn MTG's business/product types/organization/transaction systems.
