    Your Responsibilities
    As a Foundry Tooling Engineer for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will...

    • Identify gray and ductile iron casting defect causes and develop tooling solutions to eliminate or reduce the defect
    • Troubleshoot and make corrective actions for causes of scrap molds & cores made with the green sand molding and cold box core processes.
    • Develop, document, and facilitate execution of foundry tooling maintenance plans
    • Facilitate the execution of tests of new tooling in current production departments

    What Skills You Need

    • 2 or more years experience analyzing metrology reports
    • 2 or more years experience applying GD&T principles
    • Demonstrated understanding of the use of draft
    • 3 or more years experience using quality improvement methodologies
    • Demonstrated good visualization skills in working with 2D inputs.


    What Makes You Stand Out

    • Good understanding of machining processes and capabilities
    • Experience green sand tight flask molding process (equipment & materials)
    • Experience cold box core make process (equipment & materials)
    • Experience using 3D modeling software
    • Experience designing non-pressurized gating design
