    Who We Are and What We Do

    GNS America was established in 2009. Our core business is in conventional stamping, hot stamping, welding, and assembly. Our tool and die capability offer simulation and full design and build activities.

    Hot and Conventional Stamping

    GNS offers a complete range of stamping equipment. Our stamping facilities can cater to any required automotive and industrial stamping requirements. In our automotive operations, we have a full range of stamping capabilities in the 100 ton to 800 ton range, in multiple locations. Our stamping capabilities span a variety of metals.

    Laser Cutting

    GNS is a recognized leader in the use of laser technologies, GNS utilizes multi-axis laser cutting technology. Our multi-axis lasers are used for both prototyping and our large volume production for the automotive industry. In addition to cutting flat metal, GNS provides trimming and hole piercing services for three-dimensional parts. Our lasers have the versatility to cut a variety of metals with varying thickness and degrees of complexity.

    Welding

    At GNS, we use spot welding in the welding of Ultra High Strength Steel and Press Hardening parts. Our welding and assembly cells are highly automated. We use automated robots to perform several of the most complex and precise operations inside the welding cells to achieve maximum cost reduction and ensure we produce the highest quality products for our customers.

    The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, maintaining and evaluating all manufacturing cost components including material, labor and overhead within the cost accounting module of the ERP system. This position will be responsible for developing workcenter labor and overhead rates for the standard cost system. This position collaborates with and supports the operations, sales/marketing, supply chain management and finance teams with insightful analyses and suggestions for improvements. The Cost Accountant will also work closely with the Plant Controllers to assist in analyzing cost variances. This position will take direction with general supervision from the Director of Finance and requires interaction with all levels of the organization.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collect and analyze data about the companys operational costs to identify the most appropriate drivers for applying overhead costs.
    • Establishes labor and overhead rates in line with operating budgets for standard cost system. Perform the annual standard cost roll in the ERP system.
    • Review operating performance metrics, including inventory movements, sales, cost of goods sold and significant budget variances to determine if labor and overhead is being properly absorbed and cost drivers are accurate.
    • Review and confirm monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation to general ledger has been performed and all parts in inventory have a standard cost at all operation levels.
    • Review new BOMs and Routes submitted by engineering for thoroughness and establish overhead rates for new work centers as needed.
    • Perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluation. Work with purchasing and operations management to enhance accuracy of cost components.
    • Develop a method for tracking CAPEX as it relates to program specific capital for proper cost allocation.
    • Act as the Corporate finance lead for coordinating annual physical inventories at all locations with our external auditors. Work with the operations team to develop a process for regular cycle counts and establish a methodology for all inventory to be counted quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.
    • Support external audit and tax preparation functions as they relate to cost accounting.
    • Recommending changes to the companys processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profits.
    • Support the CFO and Director of Finance in responding to inquiries from management, auditors, headquarters and other authorities regarding cost accounting issues, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, financial information and policies and procedures related to cost accounting.
    • Demonstrates understanding, support and consistent application of our Vision, Mission and Core Values.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience/Education/Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

    Desired:

    • 1-2 years of Cost accounting experience
    • 1-2 years using ERP systems
    • Automotive manufacturing experience
    • Other soft skills including Data Analytics, Communication, Problem-solving and Collaboration skills.
