    Job Title: Event Sales and Operations Associate (Alcohol Retail & Event Venues)

    Location- Primary: Chamblee, Georgia with some time in our Johns Creek Locations

    Local candidates only (on-site event work required)

    Work structure: flexible — may be primarily in-store or mostly remote (local) with on-site event coverage, to be finalized mutually during hiring.

    Employment Type- Full-time or Part-time- Non-exempt (W-2)Schedule- Flexible hours aligned to event demand- Must be available for evenings, weekends, and select holidays.

    About Grapes & Grains: Grapes & Grains (GnG) is a locally owned beverage retailer and it's sister company, The Cellar Fine Wines is a local wine retailer, storage and event venue business located upstairs in our Chamblee GnG location. Both businesses serve the Atlanta and North Georgia markets. GnG curates beer, wine, and spirits. While The Cellar hosts events in our Chamblee and Johns Creek spaces while larger events (up to 100 people) for another related entity located in Peachtree Corners.

    You will drive event-related alcohol sales, book and coordinate events (15–100+ guests), and oversee smooth execution at GnG and partner locations. This role blends proactive sales with hands-on operations.

    Key Responsibilities- Event Sales and Booking - Source, qualify, and book events for GnG venues and sister/related locations. Prepare proposals, contracts, invoices; manage calendars; meet activity and revenue targets. Maintain accurate CRM/booking records and pipeline reporting.

    Client and Partner Relationships - Build and maintain relationships with planners, venues, caterers, bartending services, and corporate buyers across Atlanta and North Georgia. Provide product guidance and responsible service recommendations to meet client needs and budgets. Order Management and Fulfillment. Take alcohol orders tied to events; coordinate inventory, staging, pack-out, and delivery/pickup per company procedures. Ensure compliance with alcohol laws and company policies for storage, transport, and age verification.

    Event Operations - Attend and oversee designated events on-site at GnG and sister/related company locations. Coordinate timelines, floor plans, vendor communication, load-in/load-out, and post-event reconciliation. Deliver outstanding client and guest service.

    Required Qualifications: 1+ year in event sales/coordination, hospitality/events operations, beverage retail/wholesale, or a related customer-facing role. Local availability for on-site event coverage; ability to work evenings/weekends as needed. Valid driver's license and reliable local transportation. Strong communication, organization, and follow-through; familiarity with CRM/booking tools, POS, and spreadsheets. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods during events.

    Preferred Qualifications- Existing network among local planners, venues, caterers, and corporate event buyers. Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits; familiarity with event trends. Experience with event floor plans, BEOs, and vendor coordination.

    Compensation and Benefits- Compensation includes a base pay component plus commission; final structure and mix (in-store vs. mostly remote local) will be tailored collaboratively with the selected candidate based on experience, responsibilities, and schedule. Commission plan includes: Percentage of gross margin from qualifying alcohol sales you originate/manage. Percentage of event venue revenue for new client acquisition in year one and an ongoing percentage for retained clients thereafter. Eligible benefits include employee discounts and mileage reimbursement for approved business travel.

    Detailed commission and benefits terms are provided in writing during the offer process. Compliance and Licensing- Must meet legal age requirements to handle and sell alcohol in Georgia (typically Adherence to all applicable state/local alcohol regulations and company policies is required. Responsible alcohol service certification (e.g., ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent) required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire; employer-supported training available. Work Environment and Physical Requirements- Mix of in-store, on-site event venues, and local travel; variable noise levels; evening/late-night hours during events. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
