Academic Obstetrics - Chicago, United States - The University of Chicago

    Default job background
    Full time
    Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank.

Appointees will be members of the obstetrics call group and will contribute to patient care, medical education, and scholarship, including teaching and supervision of trainees and medical students.

Academic rank and compensation (including a generous fringe benefits package) depend on qualifications.

Appointees will join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners in UChicago Medicine, the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and the University of Chicago and its affiliates.

The University of Chicago Medical Campus is a high-complexity, high-acuity facility with Level-III NICU, and OBED with an in-house OB hospitalist model (2 physicians in-house 24/7).

We deliver over 2800 babies annually.

Appointees will be responsible for inpatient clinical care at our Hyde Park campus.

They will belong to the Section of General Obstetrics & Gynecology and will be expected to collaborate with affiliated Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Neonatology providers and physicians from Sections of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) and Gynecologic Oncology.

Appointees may also be asked to participate in the gynecologic hospitalist call pool.

Please note that OB shifts are either 12 hours or 24 hours, and Gyn Hospitalist Service is 3-7 days of in-house day and night calls from home with the expectation to come in for emergency GYN surgeries.

Appointees may contribute to leadership initiatives of the Family Birth Center and to the anticipated development of a subsection of OBGYN Hospitalists.

We especially welcome applicants with training and experience in gynecologic surgery, inpatient obstetrics (vaginal delivery of twins, higher-order cesarean sections, and operative vaginal deliveries), and experience in resident or medical student teaching.

Special consideration will be given to applicants who possess excellent gynecologic surgical skills.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago's Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications:

Applicants must upload a CV including bibliography and cover letter. Review of applications ends when the positions are filled.
