    Job Duties

    The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia is seeking applicants for the position of Senior Payroll Specialist with the Department of Fiscal Services, who will be a member of the payroll team responsible for processing payroll for the Virginia judicial system.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily processing of salary, hourly, and per diem payrolls, including analyzing, calculating, data entry, and editing of payroll data; reconciliation of fringe benefits, employee deductions, and tax records; employment/wage data reporting; and communication with all levels of court personnel.

    Minimum Qualifications
    High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree with coursework in accounting or related field preferred.
    Additional Considerations

    Competitive applicants will have one or more years of payroll experience, preferably with training and use of Cardinal HCM and working knowledge of the Commonwealth's accounting policies and procedures (CAPP); strong analytical skills with attention to detail; the ability to work independently while being a supportive member of a team; strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines; professional interpersonal and customer service skills; and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
