    Position Description

    Position Summary: Work under the Supervision of a Construction Manager to assist in management of new home construction and customer service. This position will lead to the eventual position of Construction Manager once key core competencies are met which include the management of the construction of new homes and manage customer service in assigned subdivisions with special projects as assigned.

    Responisbilites:
    • Schedule new home construction and adjust daily to achieve forecasted delivery date
    • Manage sub-contractors and vendors
    • Inspect quality of workmanship and correct as needed
    • Communicate with Sales Associates and Management stages of construction, buyer walk dates and closing dates
    • Read and interpret plans and specifications
    • Inspect and count material as delivered
    • Maintain a clean and professional job site
    • Enforce safety rules and regulations
    • Communicate courteously and effectively with customers
    • Recruit new labor subcontractors to assist in the construction of homes
    • Hold sub-contractors and vendors accountable for meeting deadlines and maintaining Chesmar Homes quality standards
    • Must be self-motivated and have a sense of urgency to keep construction on schedule
    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced production environment
    Qualifications
    • Proficient with standard software such as Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of building codes, understanding of critical path scheduling methods and safety
    • Maintain proper and professional etiquette and appearance.
    • Working knowledge of new technology such as iPads
    • Exemplary customer service skills
    • Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly in fast-paced high work volume
    • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees
    • Capacity to prioritize and delegate tasks
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi- task and prioritize work
    • Must have a valid driver's license and successfully pass a background check
    Education and Expereince Requirements:
    • College degree preferred in related field
    • Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in a construction related field
    • Experience with the home building process and practices
    • Valid driver's license and a good driving record and valid auto insurance coverage
