$60,000-75,000)
Sage Search Partners is seeking an Accountant for a well-established residential construction organization in Arlington, TX.
This role supports land acquisition accounting and treasury activities, helping ensure land transactions are properly evaluated, funded, tracked, and reported.
The ideal candidate will bring a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience), strong financial reporting fundamentals, and advanced Excel capability (macro experience preferred), along with the ability to interpret land contracts, analyze proformas, and assess the financial impact of transactions.
Experience with journal entries, wire transfers, escrow/homebuilding, and basic banking operations is a plus, as are strong communication and customer service skills for partnering with stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities
Partner with land accounting leadership and managers to support day-to-day land acquisition accounting activities and related treasury processes
Review land contracts to extract key terms, summarize details, and support transaction evaluation and documentation
Prepare and analyze internal financial reports, contract funding summaries, and other reporting tied to land purchase activity
Develop funding requests and assist with transaction support activities, including coordination related to wire transfers when needed
Maintain and enhance tracking tools, databases, and SharePoint resources used for land accounting workflows and reporting visibility
Perform transactional processing and reporting support using systems and tools such as JDE/AS400, Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet-based platforms
Validate the accuracy of reports and supporting schedules and help resolve discrepancies, outages, or data issues
Assist with process improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, reporting consistency, and operational efficiency
Support journal entry preparation, posting, and corrections in alignment with accounting policies and close requirements
Client Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or comparable combination of education and experience)
Ability to read agreements and identify critical financial and contractual terms
Capability to evaluate land transactions and communicate their financial effects through clear reporting
Strong proforma review and analytical skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
Advanced accounting knowledge with hands-on financial reporting experience
Advanced Excel skills; macro experience strongly preferred
Experience preparing, posting, and correcting journal entries
Comfort investigating variances, resolving transactional issues, and improving data integrity
Exposure to wire transfers and basic banking operations is preferred
Escrow and/or homebuilding industry experience is a plus
Customer-focused mindset with strong service and collaboration skills
