    Work Schedule: Hours may vary depending on each semester's schedule. This is an on-site position. Essential duties of the role must be performed in-person, during prescribed work hours.

    SUMMARY:
    Under general supervision from the Department Chair Polysomnography, the Adjunct Instructor will function in the role of classroom instructor and is responsible for supervision of students' skills performance, student evaluation, and other aspects of student learning in the classroom or lab setting.
    Qualifications (Required and Preferred)

    Allied Health credential with 3 years of related experience. Education, training, and experience will need to include the areas of teaching responsibility.

    PREFERRED:
    Associate of Applied Science or higher degree.

    CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES:
    Current license or certification in related healthcare field.
    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    The incumbent will:
    • Develop and teach assigned classes in keeping with syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
    • Deliver instruction across diverse schedules and locations to meet institutional, programmatic, and disciplinary needs-including dual credit offerings at partner schools in our district.
    • Provide instruction in multiple modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats (synchronous and asynchronous), or any combination thereof.
    • Cultivate healthy teacher-student relationships.
    • Engage students in active learning.
    • Teach and evaluate student performance in skills lab.
    • Demonstrate professional written and oral skills in communications with students.
    • Incorporate best practices.
    • Maintain accessibility to students for advisement and consultation.
    • Seek feedback to improve quality of teaching.
    • Maintains evidence of professional growth and development related to area of teaching.
    • Evidence a willingness to incorporate new concepts and theories to enhance professional growth.
    • Demonstrate innovative thinking to problem solve within the classroom and lab setting.
    • Demonstrate respect and professionalism with supervisors, colleagues, and students.
    • Fosters collegiality within the department/division.
    • Evidence timely completion of administrative aspects of instructional responsibilities.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities & Physical Demands

    KNOWLEDGE:
    • Knowledge of teaching and instruction for individuals and groups
    • Knowledge of appropriate subject matter and the application of the subject matter for the discipline being taught
    • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies procedure, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operation for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
    • Knowledge of FERPA requirements
    SKILLS:
    • Skill in effective communication strategies, verbal and written in dealing with students and other involved parties
    • Skill in the assessment of student learning outcomes
    ABILITIES:
    • Ability to engage students in the learning process.
    • Ability to work with a diverse population
    PHYSICAL EFFORT:
    Primarily light physical activity is required with occasional lifting and manipulation of objects up to 25 pounds. Keyboarding and computer use. Use of audio/visual devices.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Work is normally performed in an interior/office work environment. Travel to offsite centers may be required.
