Sr. Infrastructure Engineer – (Linux, RHEL, Solaris)

The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer will primarily focus on infrastructure solutions design, integration, optimization, performance tuning across Linux, Red Hat (RHEL), Solaris, Apache, HP/HSUN Servers, EMC Storage, LDAP, server virtualization, OpenShift Kubernetes, LDAP, Clustering, file systems, automation scripting, puppet administration, networking, and security hardening. All of this is in support of enterprise SAS Analytics Platforms, Apps, and Packages for the Data Analytics and visualization organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Linux, Red Hat, Solaris systems engineering on HP, SUN servers, EMC/Dell hardware and storage solutions.
• Linux / RHEL server configuration, tuning, file system allocation, LVM, virtualization, clustering, performance
• Engineer, administer, optimization of Linux Red Hat and Apache servers on HP/SUN HPC Clusters.
• Apache tomcat web server design, configuration, performance tuning and optimization.
• Server virtualization, clustering, file system configuration.
• OpenShift Kubernetes containerization management and orchestration.
• Puppet server automation administration, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• LDAP Server / clustering configuration, implementation, administration, and optimization.
• Hardware configuration on HP, SUN, EMC/Dell Server, and Storage Hardware Solutions.
• EMC/Dell storage with backup and restore on Avamar/Data domain.
• Server security vulnerability patching, management, and hardening.
• Open-Source Linux SAS Server administration, monitoring, performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Translate business requirements, functional and technical requirements into infrastructure solutions design across Server OS, app/web servers, VM/Kub, hardware, clustering, networking, storage, backup, and security.
• Document and maintain infrastructure solution documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• MUST HAVE Very strong Linux, UNIX experience (Red Hat, Solaris, ETC)
• 5+ years of hand on experience working with HP, SUN, EMC, Dell Hardware, and storage.
• 5+ Years of experience in designing, setup and configure complex computing servers, applications (including Apache and tomcat web servers).
• Excellent Linux skills support opensource applications and packages.
• 5+ years of experience in scripting and automation.
• 5+ years of experience in system hardening and security vulnerability management.
• 5+ years of experience in Puppet server administration, setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• 4+ Experience working with EMC storage, Brocade switch – Zoning, Space allocation and others (VNX, Unity).
• Strong Network knowledge or experience.
• 4+ Years of experience in Avamar/Datadomain backup and restore, as well as trouble shooting.
• 4+ Years of experience in setup, configuration, implementation and administration, clustering, and management of LDAP server.
• 4+ years of experience in server patching and fixes.
• SAS platform support, administration, and troubleshooting prefer.
• 6+ years of experience in supporting server virtualization, clustering, including file system (QFS, GPFS).
• 4+ years of experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, others.

LOGISTICS:

• Work remotely 90% anywhere in SoCal. 10% onsite in Pasadena for all hands mtgs.
• Contract role 18mo+ through 12/31/2024 with potential for extension and/or conversion to perm.
• COVID-19 Vaccine and Booster Required – OR must provide valid medical exemption from doctor in advance.
• Must be able to successfully pass a 12-panel drug screen, 10-year background check, employment verification.
• You will need to be a current US Citizen or valid Green Card holder. No need for a visa now or in future. Not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future.
