    Situated in Downtown's Second Street District, Austin Proper Hotel & Residences is the newest luxury lifestyle hotel in Austin, just steps from Lady Bird Lake, the legendary Austin City Limits music venue and nearby boutiques. With inspiring interiors by Kelly Wearstler and culinary offerings in collaboration with MML Hospitality, Austin Proper offers 238 rooms and suites, a dedicated spa and fitness center, and 9,500 square feet of meeting and event spaces, including a rooftop pool deck offering small-batch tequilas and majestic lake views.     The Quill Room is Austin Proper's 2nd floor lounge, serving signature craft cocktails and light bites Wednesday through Saturday nights. Featuring a range of live musical performances, DJ s, and other programming.

    Job Overview

    As a Quill Room Mixologist you will be responsible for preparing a large variety of beverages and serving food for the Peacock lounge, while maintaining accurate checks, and interacting with guests to ensure seamless outstanding experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Welcome guests warmly upon their arrival.
    • Thoroughly understand the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special features.
    • Offer knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions to enhance the guest's dining experience.
    • Take orders accurately and promptly, including special requests or dietary restrictions
    • Double-check orders before serving to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Deliver beverages to guests in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to service standards.
    • Provide attentive and personalized service throughout the visit, addressing guest needs promptly.
    • Ensure responsible alcohol service and adhere to legal drinking age regulations.
    • Keep bar clean, organized, and properly set with appropriate tableware, glassware, and utensils.
    • Promote daily specials, seasonal offerings, and promotions to guests, enhancing their dining experience and potentially increasing revenue.
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, fellow mixologists, servers, runners, hosts, and bussers to ensure seamless coordination of food and beverage service.
    • Communicate effectively to ensure guest requests and modifications are fulfilled accurately.
    • Anticipate guest needs and preferences to deliver a personalized and memorable experience.
    • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
    • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including regular sanitation of tables, chairs, and dining areas.
    • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to ensure the well-being of guests.
    Education & Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED equivalency
    • Minimum three (3) years related hospitality and service experience
    • Active TABC and Food Handler's certification
    • Must be at least 18 years' old
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States

    • Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
    • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
    • Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
