    About the Team

    Highly experienced team of Solution and Deployment Strategists responsible for supporting overall solutioning and definition of deployment strategy with strategic and complex Workday Student & Higher Education pursuits in North America. The team participates in the selling of the company's Human Capital Management, Financial, Planning and Student subscription and deployment services through the engagement with new or installed base customers to help them understand the optimal solution make up, deployment approach and phasing. Will work closely with Workday Deployment Partners to develop new accounts and/or expand existing accounts within an established geographic territory, market segment, or channel. Tight alignment with Product, Product Strategy, and Solution Enablement to provide deep content knowledge to the field selling resources.

    About the Role

    Workday is the leader in enterprise-class, software-as-a-service (SaaS) Human Capital Management, Financial Management, Planning and Student solutions for managing global businesses. As a Workday Senior Solution Strategist for our Customer Adoption Services organization, you will be responsible for assisting in the solution development, definition of deployment approach, cost estimate, and optimal phasing of all strategic Student and Platform Subscription and Professional Services opportunity support activities in your area. You will be a key team member of the Workday sales team, working alongside the Workday Account Executives, Presales teams, Value Mgmt. and Solution Enablement, driving Workday Subscription sales and Services business.

    You'll use your experience with consulting sales and project delivery to help prospects put together a plan for a successful project, including resources, timeline, and costs. You'll employ effective selling strategies to successfully position Workday's SaaS Student Solutions as the cost effective, modern alternative, and you will be an expert in Workday's innovative deployment methodology for medium and large sized organizations. You will work closely with Workday Service Partners to help them plan successful projects and grow their business.     Responsibilities:

    • Understand the competitive landscape and prospect needs so you can effectively position the value of Workday's innovative Student solution within the Workday ecosystem.
    • Work with the sales team to position the optimal Workday Student customer experience and deployment approach for Higher Education Industry accounts.
    • Conduct Workday Student and Platform centric discovery sessions with new and existing customers to facilitate an approach to applying Workday use cases to meet business objectives.
    • Drive detailed discovery to help prospects formulate end-to-end solutions using Workday Student and strategic third-party solutions as part of their initial Workday deployment or as an extension to their Workday platform
    • Drive both high-level and detailed product and solution discussions with customers, partners and internal team members (e.g., Product Management, Support, Customer Success, Delivery, Consulting.
    • Support the Product Qualification process with review/analysis of potential gaps in product functionality.
    • Cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with Workday Service Partners.
    • Up to 50% Travel required

    About You

    Basic Qualifications

    • 1+ years implementing the Workday Student solution in one or more of the following areas and/or a cross-functional role across multiple areas: Recruiting and Admissions, Records and Advising, Financial Aid; and/or Student Financials
    • 5+ years experience within a student functional area, either in the implementation and deployment of student enterprise software (other than Workday) or working at a higher education institution
    • 3+ years of services sales experience in a business-to-business environment is preferable, but not required.
    • Proven track record of consulting in complex product areas for customers for one or more of the Student functional areas


    Other Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree is required or equivalent work experience, MBA is preferred.
    • Ability to thrive and excel in a lean, fast-paced and dynamic environment of an emerging product line
    • Executive level verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excels at management of time and resources to support critical sales cycles
    • Team player, with capability of working independently.
    • Executive level presentation skills while participating in a fast-paced, complex product and services sales cycle.
    • Project Management Experience in Consulting Delivery in an enterprise-class customer environment, and experience with SaaS is a plus.

    The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
