    Description

    Duties

  • Supervises staff for the solid minerals adjudication programs located at the state office level. Assigns work, evaluates performance, provides training and employee development.
  • Ensures equal employment opportunity in recruitment for vacant staff positions; serves as a backup to the Solid Minerals Branch Chief during absences.
  • Ensures all actions are in conformance with applicable technical standards, instructions, guidelines, and appropriate laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Serves as the state's authority and senior technical specialist in the solid minerals adjudication program, its functions, and requirements. Conducts formal and informal meetings to carry out program activities.
  • Collects data on mining claim and solid leasable minerals. Utilizes data, systems and applications to collect, enter, manipulate, update, and maintain data according to prescribed Bureau and program standards.
  • Represents the Section and Branch at meetings with higher level management, other agencies, other BLM offices, industry, and the public. Assists Washington Office Minerals Division, State Office, District Office with projects.
