    The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Assists the physician and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff, and physician.(Chesterton/Valparaiso location)

    Essential Functions:
    Provide general nursing care to patients. Assess patients in the clinical setting, entering data into the EMR. Assist or perform procedures in clinic. Educate patient and family members regarding treatment plans, medications, diagnosis, and instructions. Assist with the scheduling and ordering of tests and/or other orders given by the physician. Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Respond to incoming patient phone calls related to treatment. Serve as the liaison between surgical departments/hospitals and the outpatient clinic.

    Schedule all surgeries and coordinate with surgery scheduling to assure adequate coordination of surgical time and that all necessary surgical.

    documents have been provided and received to include surgical clearances, preoperative testing, and postoperative orders. Assist with the completion of FMLA/ Disability paperwork. Maintain patient confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.


    Environmental/Working Conditions:
    Work is performed in a clinical environment. Involves frequent contact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. It is possible work may involve interaction with injured or sick patients.

    Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of medical procedures. Ability to read diagnostic and lab results. Leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution. Professionalism and work ethic. HIPAA compliance.


    Education:
    High school diploma or the equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Valid Indiana Registered Nursing License.


    Experience:
