    **Job Summary**

    AEP is aggressively pursuing federal grant funds to offset utility expenses to deliver customer cost savings associated with the delivery of electricity service. This position is responsible for:

    All aspects of negotiating and executing the grant award with the federal government agencies,

    Development of all company policy and procedures for maintaining compliance with these federal grants

    Day-to-day efforts associated with monitoring, tracking, and executing all required actions to maintain compliance with all federal grants received.

    Coordinating and ensuring seamless billing and collection of grant funds from federal granting agencies.

    **FORMAL TITLE: Grant Manager** = bachelor's degree + 10 years of experience with two (2) of management experience; OR, associate's degree + 11 years of experience with two (2) years of management experience

    **Work Designation** -- **remote** and preferably within AEP's service territory in these states: OH, WV, VA, KY, TN, IN, MI, OK, TX, LA, AR. Other states and locales/municipalities may be considered based on payroll, tax and benefits.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS are listed below:

    + Provide regular updates to all stakeholders;

    + Negotiation and Execution of Grant Awards:

    + Lead all aspects of negotiating and executing grant awards with federal government agencies.

    + Ensure clear understanding of grant terms and conditions, and effectively communicate requirements to relevant stakeholders.

    + Coordinates with appropriate business units and consultants to ensure timely and accurate response to grant maker during award phase;Coordinates with Operating Companies and other Service Corp groups during award agreement negotiation to ensure Companies ability to comply with proposed agreement;

    + Development of Compliance Policies and Procedures:

    + Develop comprehensive company policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal grant regulations.

    + Stay updated on changes in regulations and guidelines, and adapt policies accordingly to ensure ongoing compliance.

    + Day-to-Day Compliance Efforts:

    + Take charge of monitoring, tracking, and executing all necessary actions to maintain compliance with federal grants received.

    + Implement internal controls and processes to ensure adherence to grant requirements on a daily basis.

    + Lead all required internal and external audit activities.

    + Coordination of Billing and Collection of grant funds:

    + Coordinate seamless billing and collection of grant funds from federal granting agencies.

    + Ensure accurate and timely submission of invoices and documentation required for grant reimbursement.

    + Coordinate with Regulatory on funding mechanisms and approval strategy;

    + Works with appropriate business units post award agreement to ensure proper handoffs and understanding of grant award requirements

    + Supervise employees as assigned

    + Provide support to direct reports in their development activities and mentor other employees.

    **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

    + **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Technology, Management, Business or Engineering; OR,

    Associates degree in same disciplines

    + **Experience:** With a Bachelors, need 10 or more years of grant writing, project management, or business development experience to include 2 years of management experience; OR,

    Associates degree, need 11 years of experience to include 2 years of management experience

    **OTHER REQUIREMENTS**

    + Complete understanding of industry safety protocols

    + Solid written and oral communication and presentation skills

    + Negotiation skills - experience with third party contract negotiations

    + Requires periodic travel within the United States

    Physical demand level is Sedentary.

    **INITIAL POSITION / BASE SALARY FUNDING: ($129,963 - $168,954). In addition to base salary, AEP offers competitive Total Rewards including: discretionary annual and long-term incentives, 401(k), pension, health insurance, vacation, etc.**
