- Manage and oversee all aspects of tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits for the organization.
- Conduct research on tax issues and provide guidance to senior management on tax-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including changes in tax legislation.
- Review and approve tax provisions, estimates, and disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate the completion of tax audits and examinations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to address tax-related issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in tax management.
- Demonstrated experience working with partnerships, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Minimum of 8 years of consistent Tax experience in public accounting.
- Comprehensive understanding of pertinent tax legislation covering corporate, personal, and partnership tax compliance and planning.
- Proficient in accounting principles, with advanced analytical and research capabilities.
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Taxation.
- Proficiency in tax software applications such as ProSystems fx Tax, Engagement, QuickBooks, Excel, and/or RIA Checkpoint.
- CPA license preferred.
- Experience in client planning.
- Familiarity with international tax regulations and trusts and estates is advantageous.
