    Description

    Gibbs & Cox, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos and one of the nation's leading independent Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering and Design firms is hiring a Senior Marine Engineer.

    This position reports to the Gibbs & Cox Program Manager for the PMS 400D engineering and administrative support contract, with a focus on Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Flight Upgrades.

    For this position we will consider a full time or part time hire.

    This will also be a hybrid remote position and individual will be required to work 2-3 days per week onsite at one of the following locations : Washington DC, Bath ME or Pascagoula MS.

    Primary Responsibilities
    Provide technical analysis and expertise on engineering issues. This includes evaluating all systems and sub-systems to be integrated into DDG 51 Class ships with a focus on Flight Upgrade Support
    Organize and lead discussions among peers, government customers, and shipbuilders regarding equipment issues
    Communicating technical principles directly to clients
    Assist junior and mid-level engineers with technical research and presentation development
    Prepare technical summaries of meetings for the customer
    Perform in-depth reviews into requirements and functionality to validate proposed design changes and investigate issues
    Support program reviews and ship trials

    Basic Qualifications
    U.S. Citizenship is required
    Must be able to obtain a security clearance
    B.S. Degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering or a Related Field
    15 Plus (+) Years of experience and demonstrated knowledge of US Navy Shipbuilding processes and procedures, shipboard (HM&E) Systems
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    Proficiency in standard software e

    Up to 10% travel required

    Preferred Qualifications
    5 Plus (+) Years of Experience with DDG-51 preferred
    U.S. Navy experience is preferred
    Knowledge of MIL Standards and Specifications is preferred

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $122, $220,900.00
