- Investigate motor vehicle accidents to ascertain coverage and liability for a range of severity levels, from minor to high severity, including uninsured and underinsured motorists claims.
- Conduct thorough interviews with customers, claimants, and witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding each loss.
- Maintain accurate reserves and ensure timely reserve adjustments.
- Diligently manage loss adjustment expenses.
- Communicate effectively with policyholders, agents, underwriters, reinsurers, and claims management.
- Complete comprehensive large loss reports as required.
- Retain expert vendors when necessary to aid in the investigation and evaluation of each claim.
- Adhere to best practices and litigation management guidelines.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- A college degree from an accredited university or a combination of experience and education.
- A minimum of three years of auto claims handling experience.
- Adjusters license preferred.
- Insurance designations (CPCU, AIC, SCLA, etc.) are a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitasking, and prioritizing assignments based on their overall importance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Litigation experience is preferred.
