The Children's Behavioral Health Clinician will determine the nature of client's situation, initiate treatment plan, provide individual and family counseling, facilitate all aspects of clinical care, and document progress.
Clinician will be responsible for general coordination of counseling services and have sufficient personal mobility to complete field work at various locations.
Position will require flexible work schedule to include evening and weekend hours as necessary. Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including two (2) doses of a 2-dose series or one (1) dose of a 1-dose series plus fourteen (14)( days beyond the final dose prior to start date.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides clinical behavioral health services to Tribal members between the ages of two and twenty who are experiencing mental health symptoms.
Provide individual and family counseling for an array of mental health symptoms.
Perform screenings, intake and assessment, interview client, family members, and others (as necessary), assess medical, emotional, social and educational information.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives. Provide timely and thorough documentation in compliance with department, state, and federal policies and regulations. Provide referrals to appropriate agencies and other related services. Work effectively with other community and state agencies to provide a collaborative continuum of care for mutual clients. Follow professional code of ethics including confidentiality, individual rights, professional and legal issues in providing services.
Participate in required clinical staffing and weekly supervision within the Behavioral Health Department as well as with other outside agencies as needed.

Work is performed in a small office with limited storage, filing and workspace. People asking questions/directions frequently interrupt incumbent. Some work is performed in conference rooms, Zoom, or Telehealth.
Working Environment
The environment involves the usual risks and stress of an office environment within an ambulatory health care facility. The employee may be exposed to communicable diseases. Safety precautions for employees such as blood drawing for screening of various diseases such as hepatitis, required immunizations, etc. are necessary.
The employee is occasionally subject to verbal abuse, threats, and physical violence from angry, hostile, or disgruntled patients and/or family members.
License(s)Possess current valid State of Alaska driver's license with a record acceptable to KIC's Insurance carrier.
Alaska State licensure as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychological Associate required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience
Master Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field. Two - five years post graduate work experience required.
