    Description
    Summary
    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.

    You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

    Duties

    The incumbent serves as a full-time staff psychologist within the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center's Mental Health Service Line (MHSL) and provides a full range of integrative mental health services for Veterans seen in the facility Neurology Clinic, which includes the Headache Disorders Center of Excellence (HCoE) and the Epilepsy Disorders Center of Excellence (ECoE).

    The incumbent uses their competencies in brain-behavior relationships, biopsychosocial evaluation and treatment, health promotion, and disease prevention, to provide a full spectrum of high-quality, patient-centered, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based psychological services, including assessment; psychoeducation; consultation; and episodes of efficient, integrative health therapeutic and rehabilitative services for lifestyle, behavioral health, and medical concerns typically seen in the Neurology Clinic context.

    Examples of such services include biofeedback, neurofeedback, cognitive behavioral therapies, safety assessments, and suicide prevention services for Veterans with headache diseases, functional neurological disorders, non-epileptic seizures, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and chronic neurological disorders, including Parkinson's Disease, Huntington's Disease, ALS, epilepsy and dementia.

    The incumbent collaborates with and provides consultation and therapeutic support to members of the Neurology Clinic, the HCoE, and the ECoE.

    Service are provided in-person and through telehealth technologies, when appropriate.

    As part of the role, the incumbent contributes to the Psychology Training Program by providing education, training, and/or mentoring to psychology externs, interns, and post-doctoral fellows, when appropriate.

    This position is under the direct supervision of the PCMHI Program Manager.
