- Pipeline Management: Maintain the "Demand Forecast"—the database of upcoming projects, maintenance requirements, and other IT resourcing needs.
- Resource Modeling: Work with IT leads to determine the labor and capital required to fulfill incoming requests.
- Resource Allocation: Partner with IT managers to assign IT staff to projects and strategic initiatives based on their skills, availability, and project priority.
- Capacity vs. Capability Analysis: Develop models to determine not just if we have enough people, but the resources with the right skills (e.g., Epic-certified analysts or HL7 integration specialists).
- Utilization Tracking: Monitor burn rates to ensure staff aren't over-allocated, which leads to errors in critical hospital systems and employee turnover.
- Skill Gap Mapping: Work with HR and IT leadership to identify necessary training for the team to support emerging technologies.
- Experience: 5 years in IT Resource Management, Workforce Planning, or Project Management Office (PMO).
- Healthcare Context: Understanding of the on-call nature of hospital IT and the specialized skill sets required for clinical application support.
