    SUMMARY
    We are currently seeking a HIM Systems Analyst to join our HIM team. This full-time role will be hybrid (SHIFT: Days).

    Purpose of this Position: Responsible for overall management and support of the health Information management (HIM) systems including implementation, planning, and maintenance.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participates in the research, evaluation, design, testing, implementation, upgrades, support and maintenance of HIM applications including, but not limited to, EDCO Solarity document indexing system, Hyland OnBase document imaging system, Sorna DVD burning hardware/software, and M*Modal transcription services
    • Recommends new technology, products and system updates including software and hardware specific to HIM. Collaborates on implementation of new software installations, upgrades and integration
    • Evaluates integration with legacy systems. Identifies and defines required system modifications and or enhancements to improve existing systems
    • Software technical expert and primary resource for HIM applications to support end-users and vendors
    • Provides technical consultation to HIM management, other departments, vendors and Information Technology on HIM systems and processes
    • Provides oversight of system access and security, data capture and information workflow
    • Provides assistance with workflow analysis and redesign so HIM system functionality is optimized
    • Works with customers to develop and design efficiency measures through workflow processes with document imaging systems
    • Assist HIM Operations Manager and Supervisor with working exceptions in Solarity and identification, storage, and disposition of complex record types
    • Completes configuration for new forms in Solarity and ensures that form is recognized by the system at an acceptable model performance level
    • Recommends indexing requirements for new forms and maintains existing forms in the Solarity
    • Troubleshoots document imaging system issues including but not limited to system breaks within the HIM department or at locations throughout HHS that complete point of care scanning
    • Serves as the primary resource, support, and project manager for the HHS Point of Care Scanning initiative. This includes appropriate training for point of care scanning to ensure accurate document capture
    • Serves as a backup to Enterprise Engineer for Onbase and RightFax systems. This includes monitoring scanners, Onbase Servers, and installing Onbase local client as appropriate
    • Completes analysis of system to ensure that it is working at optimal levels and ensures that document capture is occurring at the most efficient levels
    • Serves as liaison with HIM electronic systems. Provides support to all users with issues related to protected health information capture, timelines, accuracy, retention, security, access, and data integrity
    • Serves as a liaison for the Epic HIM and Identity applications by facilitating effective communication between customers and technical system resources by translating operational language into technical terminology
    • Works with customers on resolving complex and non-routine hardware, software and operation
    • system or integration problems as related to HIM systems and applications
    • Diagnoses problems, evaluates solutions and communicates resolution to users, managers and associated HHS support resources. Works continuously to correct and prevent issues related to systems and data quality. Business owner for interface error queues as appropriate
    • Provides support and assistance to users and ongoing education and training when needed Provides in-service learning opportunities, documentation, and training to all staff
    • Manages tools such as procedures and flowcharts, instructional manuals, and other materials to promote effective use of the HIM systems and applications
    • Facilitates cross-functional teams for the management of a project environment with an emphasis on quality, productivity and consistency. May serve as project manager on assigned projects
    • Collects and analyzes data for departmental needs and special projects. Provides system reports and queries to ensure HIM systems are running at peak performance
    • Responsible for all assigned HIM systems maintenance within the organization. Coordinates system downtime related to maintenance and communicates with affected users and managers
    • Coordinates the operational approval and management of Solarity and OnBase document type and sub-category lists. This includes new requests for HHS and affiliates
    • Coordinates with organizational affiliates when using HIM systems and applications to ensure continuity of data across multiple organizations within one electronic system
    • Point role when outside health information is received via disc. Responsible for loading information into secured system in order for providers to obtain pertinent patient information
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, health care administration, health information management or related field
    • Two (2) years' experience in a health information management department or electronic health record environment or combination of the two
    • Work experience with systems troubleshooting and maintenance or experience working in a help desk role

    • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • RHIA or RHIT preferred
    • OnBase System Administration Certification and OnBase Advanced Systems Administration

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

    • Proficient in Microsoft office products
    • Working knowledge of project management functions and techniques
    • Strong communication skills and troubleshooting capabilities
    • Ability to comprehend work flow and integration of electronic applications
    • Basic understanding of database design and data management concepts
    • Strong attention to detail
