    Job DescriptionLoan Officer, Junior – Retail (Bilingual) Entry Level

    Location*: Sandy Spring, MD *must be able to report to the office at least 3 days per week.

    Department: Retail – Sandy Spring, MD

    General Business Hours: M-F: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

    Shift: 40 hours per week. Eligible for approved overtime.

    Managed by (Title): Branch Manager and/or Assigned Retail Loan Officer

    Compensation: $ per hour + commission/overrides

    SUMMARY

    Embrace is looking for an entry level Junior Loan Officer that is bilingual. Prior experience not required. Branch Manager is looking for a candidate who has a growth mindset and is willing to learn the business. When a top producing Branch Manager or Retail Loan Officer achieves a production level that exceeds the time and effort available from one individual, he or she may choose to build a team of support staff. The Junior Loan Officer is responsible for many Loan Officer activities for the loan origination team. Through professional persistence, the Junior Loan Officer solicits and originates loans that are acceptable to the companies chosen investors and agencies. He/she develops and maintains a strong client referral base by selling the firm's loan products and services to meet the needs of its client base such as realtors, builders, home buyers, CPA's, financial planners and others. In essence, the Junior Loan Officer is responsible for growing the team's production and creating their own production, as well.

    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

    Technical Knowledge, Years of Related Experience, Skills, Licenses, and Systems Experience

    1. Education: Minimum of a high school diploma required.
    2. Experience: No experience in a Loan Officer Assistant or similar role required. Willingness to learn the position and be trained by the Branch Manager required.
    3. Skills: Bilingual required. Detail oriented with strong follow-up skills. Basic math skills (at least a middle school grade level). Interpersonal skills that forge professional relationships and support, strong oral, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write and communicate at a level consistent with the requirements of this position and to generate independents leads for new business. Having a growth mindset and passionate about learning a new position required.
    4. Systems: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, DocuSign, Social Media and more.
    TRAINING REQUIRED

    Participate in additional training on sales, technology, products, procedures and pricing on an ongoing basis. Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Establish, develop and maintain client referral relationships with Realtors, builders, Developers, CPA's, financial planners and make sales calls on potential or existing customers in order to develop new business and/or retain existing business.
    • Successfully manage marketing on social media for assigned Loan Officer or Branch Manager
    • Receive incoming business from assigned Loan Officer or Branch Manager and address appropriately on behalf of manager
    • Keep informed of trends, changes and developments in the local real estate market and competitor activity.
    • To keep up-to-date with changing rules, regulations and guidelines from FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA in addition to other investors and agencies.
    • To keep informed of all origination, processing, appraisal, underwriting and closing requirements for both company and investor guidelines pertaining to both governments insured and privately insured mortgages.
    • Negotiate price, terms and conditions with mortgages after training.
    • Maintain a professional image and standards consistent with company policies and procedures.

    Coordinate customer interaction and interface with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from application to closing including, but not limited to:

    • Counseling and pre-qualifying potential homebuyers.
    • Taking a complete and accurate loan application.
    • Obtaining all necessary support documents along with the appropriate fees and lock-in information.
    • Overseeing the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with term.
    • Assisting in collecting additional documents and promptly communication loan status to all interested parties.
    • Obtaining loan documentation after closing as directed by corporate or senior management.
    • Follow through on all professional conditions and continued education requirements for licensure.
    • Occasionally participate in branch/headquarter meetings that require attendance.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or assigned Retail Loan Officer.

    SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES

    Attend and participate in all Monthly Awards Ceremonies, Corporate Gatherings & Training Events. Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on corporate policies, procedures, and developments.

    DRIVER ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES

    This position requires reliable transportation and the operation of a motor vehicle from time to time in order to perform your required job duties. Drivers must have a valid driver's license of the State they reside in. Additionally, drivers should have at least 2 years of driving experience and be at least 18 years old. Embrace Home Loans reserves the right to enforce additional driver eligibility guidelines as required by law.
