    As a Fire Extinguisher Technician, you are responsible for the sales, maintenance, and repair of fire extinguishers on existing customer routes as well as selling and teaching fire extinguisher training classes. Also responsible for ensuring high levels of accuracy of these responsibilities and working in accordance with applicable national and local codes and standards.

    Hourly pay ranges from $18-22 dependent on skills and years of experience.

    In this role you will:

    • Perform inspection, testing, service, and repairs as required for all types of fire extinguishers as mandated by Standards and codes, manufactures requirements, and expectations and requirements of the company
    • Record and document all inspections, repairs, discrepancies, and recommendations
    • Survey facilities for fire and safety needs and reference any requirements needed
    • Provide customer support in creating quotes, answering questions, laying out fire equipment needs and follow-up all jobs to assure customer satisfaction
    • Service and maintain company vehicle according to manufacturer's recommendations and company policy
    • Maintain clean and organized vehicle. Keep vehicle stocked with parts, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform the job
    • Ensure that all internal and external customers and co-workers receive outstanding service by providing a friendly environment
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations and laws
    • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
    • Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    • Has familiarity with basic hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
    • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and adapt to change in a fast-paced dynamic environment
    • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service
    • Able to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and display excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of controversial and/or sensitive issues
    • Ability to comply with safety requirements of the position and actively promote safe work practices
    • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

    Requirements:

    • 1 year of experience in performing inspection, testing, service, and repair of Fire Extinguishers preferred, training provided.
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) #10 Standards Servicing Guidelines and local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) preferred
    • ICC/NAFED Fire Extinguishers Certification obtain within 90 days of employment
    • FEX-1 Extinguishers obtain within 90 days of employment
    • Must have the ability to obtain all licensing required within 90 days of hire.
    • Valid state issued driver's license with acceptable driving record

    Working Conditions:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and varying climate/temperature conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • Able to constantly lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds unassisted
    • Occasionally move/lift (with assistance or lifting device pounds
    • Able to constantly lift and carry items such as toolboxes, tools, equipment, cylinders, and parts
    • Ability to constantly push or pull up to pounds
    • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and stretching
